frequently asked questions
What is the BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE?
The biinar bb collective was created to bring dope women, femme, trans and nonconforming creatives of color together to build a community of freelancers of color and create groundbreaking art. Please note the collective does not limit a woman's identity, as we are a safe space for all creatives of color. Founded by Amarie Baker, we want to create a spaces where hardworking women are recognized for their talents and provide resources to women of color wanting to break into various industries. .
I STILL DON'T GET IT, LIKE WHAT DO YOU DO?
Basically we're just some really talented individuals that are also creatives for hire. We've got expertise in marketing, motion design, film, photography... If you can name it there's a member of the biinar bb collective that specializes in it. We love working with other artists and collaborating on projects. Drop us a line sometime :)
SO YOU PROVIDE CREATIVE OR MARKETING STRATEGIES?
You mean ideas? Yes, we have plenty of those and we're really good at what we do. We like to take your problems and turn them into creative solutions. We can confidently say whatever project we're working on will be nothing like what's currently being put out by the industry. Don't believe us? Check out some of our passion projects.
DO I NEED TO BE A WOMAN OF COLOR TO JOIN THE BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE?
Yes. The biinar bb collective was born out of a need to showcase women of color creatives producing amazing work. We've come together to use our collective talent to produce work that changes the world. And when we say women we are inclusive of ALL women of color across the diaspora and gender spectrum. We hope you'll join us.
ISN'T THAT REVERSE RACISM?
No. Racism is a concept that operates on both an individual and institutional level. At its core, racism is a system in which a dominant race benefits off the oppression of others — whether they want to or not. We don’t live in a society where every racial group has equal power, status, and opportunity. We encourage you to look deeper at what racism actually is before using this phrase again.
I'M A TRANS WOMAN OF COLOR, CAN I JOIN THE BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE?
Of course bb! Like we mentioned above, all women are welcome ❤️
DOES THE BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE ACCEPT VOLUNTEERS?
We'd be happy to consider you! Please send us your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell use a little about yourself! Please be patient. Response times may be slow due to high volume.
DOES THE BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE OFFER INTERNSHIPS?
We currently do not have any internships available, but feel free to subscribe to our newsletter. We'll be sure to let you know ASAP when we need help. We believe in interns getting paid for their work, so we're currently working on funding before accepting applications!
THIS ALL SOUNDS AMAZING, I'D LIKE TO SUPPORT THE BIINAR BB COLLECTIVE, WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
Thanks so much for your support! We really appreciate it ❤️ If you can spread the word about the work we're doing here that would be amazing! If you're feeling a little frisky go ahead and hit that donate button and help fund our next creative project. You can also sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop!
CAN I HIRE YOU TO DIRECT MY NEXT PROJECT?
Absolutely! We're always looking to collaborate with our fellow female artists, and yes we've also worked with men. The biinar bb collective only takes on work that is meaningful, or allows us to create a raw narrative. Being the sexy girl in the music video is so 2013. We really want to push boundaries, so if you contact us about your project please keep that in mind. We're trailblazers and the work we create aims to change the world and uplift communities.
WE’RE BASED IN ORLANDO AND CAN’T COME VISIT YOUR BADASS CREATIVE TEAM ON THE EAST COAST 😭
No worries. We're only one Skype call away! We love virtual connections and sharing memes in group chats! If you're located in the tristate area we may be able to work something out. Either way drop us a line at email@example.com.
DOPE! I THINK I’M READY TO WORK WITH YOU. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO PAY? I’VE GOT LIKE 74 DOLLARS, 6 DIMES, AND A 1998 LIMITED EDITION PIKACHU ILLUSTRATOR CARD I WON LAST YEAR!
That's awesome! We’ll take the card (which is worth $100,000 btw so you might want to keep that lol) but our work may be a bit beyond your $74 budget. People tell us we do amazing work. Some even call us creative geniuses so unfortunately we need a budget to keep creating work of this caliber. With that in mind, considering the quality of our work we believe our price point is very reasonable.
S0 if you can come up with a little bit of cash, we're in. Because we also understand that the struggle is real, we're more than willing to hear you out! On occasion we can make it work, but keep in mind this is all on a case by case basis.
We're in the process of working on sponsoring one creative project a year, giving priority to projects that give back or uplift a communities. Sign up for our newsletter to find out when we launch applications.

HOW DID YOU CAST EFFLORESCENCE? WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR?
We cast an amazing group for this project. From first glance many people think these women were chosen based on race. But the truth is I chose these women based on their dedication to pursing their dreams. These women are designers, artists, writers, florists, activists, models, singers, artisans and everything in-between. Director Amarie Baker primarily used Instagram to scout talent for the project. Check out this article about the entire casting process here.
